Founders Rübæus Pure Raspberry Ale

Manages to be both more raspberry softdrink-like and more beer-like than the previous framboise beers I've had. Not a bad thing.

Four capsules out of five.

Estrella Cheddar Chipotle

Average run of the mill bbq-flavoured crisps with a light hint of cheese.

2.5/5 - not actively bad, a full flavour, but not particularly innovative or anything

Kaksi Kotia vailla humalaa

The first gruit beer I've ever had was a pleasant surprise. Finnish microbrewery Rekolan Panimo's Kaksi Kotia Vailla Humalaa ('two homes lacking hops(/lacking drunkenness)') is flavoured with chaga mushroom and wild herbs. It has a relatively sour profile, with a strong  flavour of wild strawberries. I expected more herbal flavours, but the strawberriness really dominated the flavour experience. Not a bad thing, though.

4.7/5 smiles.

Windows 10 Installation and Setup and So on

I was surprised by how easily Windows was installed - last time I installed a Windows version, it actually took more effort than installing Ubuntu. However, the aftermath of the installation would be so much easier with a package manager.

Weird problems that later occurred: Windows can't decide whether my time zone is Finland or GMT, and keeps switching. Windows doesn't reliably keep my keyboard layout to Finnish. Windows assumes Finnish keyboard layout means I am primarily a Finnish speaker. (Microsoft generally sucks at admitting that people imaginably can ever imaginably need to use more than one language in their daily lives. Fuck me for using three and learning a fourth.) Windows still sometimes crashes from screen resolution changes when games close. The internet is slower on windows than under linux, making me suspect they upload a shitload of data all the time.

Snapple: Kiwi Strawberry

Too sweet for my palate, but has a weird appealing quality that made me incapable of not downing the whole bottle almost in one go. Just kept at it. Refreshing thanks to a nice tart quality, although I could've had more of that tartness.

Goat Farm's Goat Butter

I was expecting something overwhelming and almost offensively over-the-top when sampling this on a small puffed rice crackerbread. I was happily surprised by it. The flavour was not far from any regular chevre cheese, but maybe slightly more refined?

I can imagine several nice uses for it:
  • as such in a cheese selection, would be really great on a light cracker
  • as spiced butter with some steak (maybe especially mutton)
  • with steamed vegetables
  • possibly with some fish, but I have no idea about the details of that particular idea

Zoega's Skånerost

The flavour reminds me of gingerbread that's been quite burnt. This is not a bad thing for a dark roast coffee at all, and in fact I would count this as one of the better dark roasts I've come across -' burnt gingerbread' is a way more complicated and pleasing flavour than 'burnt' is.
